A coffin-carrying challenge for one player

Last Shift is a free 2D browser game about balancing a coffin with two independently controlled carriers. Your left hand controls one end; your right hand controls the other. Cross four stages — a cemetery path, a long stair, low caves that force you to crouch, and a final run that mixes all three — while managing the passenger's sliding weight to reach the hilltop lodge. No download or account is required.

Inspired by The Hilltop Funeral's carrying concept

If you enjoy the shared coffin-carrying challenge of The Hilltop Funeral, Last Shift explores a different question: can one player coordinate both ends? Instead of communicating with a friend, you must time your own two hands. This is an independently made browser prototype, not an official web version, port, sequel or free edition of The Hilltop Funeral. It is not affiliated with that game's developers or publisher.

How to play Last Shift

  1. Click “Take the night shift.” Use A and D to move the left carrier and W to jump. Use the arrow keys to move and jump with the right carrier. Hold S (or ↓) to crouch: both carriers duck, walk slower, and can step up small ledges without jumping.
  2. Move both carriers together on flat ground. On steps, jump one end up and bring the other end after it. A steep tilt makes your passenger slide toward the lower end.
  3. Reach flags to save checkpoints. If the passenger falls or a carrier drops into a gap, you return to the latest checkpoint. Get both carriers to the lit lodge to finish.
