Bamboo Sudoku

Plain sudoku on split bamboo.

Click a cell, then a digit. Arrow keys move, 1–9 place, Backspace clears.

Rules

Green, fibrous, and hollow-sounding. Each digit lands with a bamboo knock — brighter than wood, with a short resonant body because bamboo is a tube, not a block.

  • Each row, column and 3×3 box holds 1–9 exactly once — no extra rules.
  • Placements knock hollow: a triangle tone plus a short filtered crack.
  • A finished unit knocks four times in quick succession, descending.
  • Three difficulties, hints available, progress saved in this browser.

Good to know

Ordinary sudoku rules still apply underneath the variant: every row, column and 3×3 box holds 1–9 exactly once. The extra rule sits on top and is usually what breaks the puzzle open.
